Maxi Skirt to Midi Dress

Posted by Alexis Corry on

I absolutely love how our styles can smoothly transform from one look to another, and our knit maxi skirts are the perfect example of how Lex & Lynne strives for versatility and multi-season wear.

Today I am featuring our signature Cotton Maxi Skirt, Midi Skirt, and our very first maxi skirt design ~ the Ariel. I'm sharing a behind-the-scenes look at some outtakes from our British Vogue photoshoot to show you how each style can be worn. I absolutely love how Mia wears our Cotton Maxi Skirt in the two photos below ~ true maxi skirt length with our matching knit top, and as a halter-dress. In fact, our maxi skirts were featured in British Vogue's February issue of this year.

A style that you can truly make your own, I like to encourage our customers to get creative with our skirts and wear them more ways than one! You can wear each style on your hip or at the high waist, and we even suggest moving the drawstring to the hip because a few of our styles have slits that can be worn in the front and back to change it up. As a dress, we suggest using the drawstring as straps. You can wear the skirt as a halter-dress, or intricately tie the drawstring through the crochet at your back to create straps.

Additionally, a simple white button-down tied at the waist or a white tee is a perfect go-to for each maxi skirt; I even love wearing a denim jacket or shirt buttoned up as my top with our skirts. I also designed our Natural Cotton Top with our skirts in mind ~ the perfect length to pair with our maxi skirts. You could also try one of our hand-knit tops like the Anette or the Elsbeth. I've listed a handful of my favorite tops to wear with each skirt!

I find our healing bracelets and wooden beaded bracelets to pair perfectly with all of our knitwear and woven cotton styles! That being said, I wanted to link a few that are featured in the photos above, here.
